After finishing my schooling in England I moved to France in 2003. I launched myself into the French bloodstock industry by investing in some broodmares which helped me greatly understand the fundamental aspects of the French thoroughbred. In which the whole breeding and racing industry of France is aimed at producing quality, fast maturing tough horses.

I also spent time in Normandy working at some of the best Studs in France and later spent time with leading owner/breeder Jean-marc Lucas at Haras Du Berlais. Which has produced a wealth of Gr1 horses all round the world on both the Flat and National hunt. This was a integral part in learning and understanding about the French racing system.

As my first foals and yearlings hit the sales ring and were averaging 20 times their covering fees I knew I was going in the right direction...

TJ Bloodstock was started in 2006 by Toby Jones after he was asked by a friend to keep a eye out for a nice cheap horse. The horse in question was called Anemix and won on his debut in the UK over hurdles and since then there has been no looking back....
